OPEN CALL // GUIDELINES

Before you lend us a piece

We are looking for photographs, records, cloth and designs that carry Nigerian creative history. These notes explain what helps us look after your piece, and what we promise in return.

01

What we are looking for

Family albums and studio portraits, records, tapes and flyers, cloth, garments and patterns, and posters, signage and sketches from Nigerian designers and artists. Everyday pieces are as welcome as famous ones.

02

Tell us the story

For each piece, tell us what it is, who made it or who appears in it, and where and when it was made. A best guess is fine. Then tell us how it came to you, because the story is part of the archive.

03

Share only what you can

Send pieces that are yours to share, or that you have permission to share. Your piece stays yours. If it is selected, we will ask you to confirm before we show it, and we will credit you. You can ask us to withdraw it at any time.

04

What happens next

We review every submission. Selected pieces join our upcoming gallery showings. We aim to reply within 14 days, and submissions that are not selected are deleted within 12 months.
